UConn women’s freshman guard Caroline Ducharme underwent successful surgery on her left hip Thursday.

According to the program, the procedure repaired an injury Ducharme sustained prior to coming to UConn. Ducharme will begin a rehabilitation program on Friday and is expected to be ready for the 2022-23 preseason.

In her first season at Storrs, Ducharme averaged 21 minutes per game while posting 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 31 games played.

However, the Massachusetts native averaged over 16 points per game when star guard Paige Bueckers was sidelined for months with a knee injury.

With Christyn Williams being drafted to the WNBA, Ducharme will be looked upon to fill more minutes in her sophomore season for head coach Geno Auriemma alongside fellow freshman guard Azzi Fudd.
