The 118th U.S. Open tees off next week, and the world’s finest golfers will try to take down the world’s toughest major. The USGA has released groupings and tee times for the tournament, to be held at Shinnecock Hills. Feast your eyes and make your plans; here are some of the notables who are scheduled to be in attendance.
Shinnecock will play to a par 70, with an initial setup of 7,440 yards. The cut will be the low 60 scores and ties after the second round; if the tournament is tied at the end of four rounds, the remaining players will head to a two-hole playoff. ____ Jay Busbee is a writer for Yahoo Sports.
