Tyrese Maxey to miss Sixers vs. Nets with concussion-like symptoms

The Philadelphia 76ers already knew they would be a bit short-handed when they pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, but ahead of the matchup at the Barclays Center, they will lose another key piece.

Tyrese Maxey has been sent home to Philadelphia and will miss the matchup with the Nets due to concussion-like symptoms. He suffered a head injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s road win over the Dallas Mavericks. He left the game briefly, but did end up returning to finish off the win.

After shootaround, the Sixers decided to send Maxey back to Philadelphia. He has been dealing with concussion-like symptoms over the last 24 hours and is ruled out officially for concussion evaluation.

With Maxey out, that puts more pressure on Tobias Harris to step up and lead the way. He’s had two strong games and will need a third to help Philadelphia get the job done.

Tip off from the Barclays Center is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.
