Tyreek Hill looking forward to facing Jalen Ramsey: 'He thinks high of himself'

In terms of trash talking, Tyreek Hill didn’t go scorched earth when he was asked about Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

But given that Ramsey is the NFL’s biggest talker, it might generate waves nonetheless.

Hill, the Chiefs’ exceptionally fast receiver, knows about Ramsey’s reputation as a cornerback, and as a talker.

“He think high of himself,” Hill said, according to ESPN’s Adam Teicher. “He’s all right, I guess. I can’t wait to line up against him. I hope he presses me.

“He’s a great player. To get my name out there more, I need to go up against more talent like him. I’m not calling [Denver Broncos cornerback] Chris Harris or nobody else bad, but he’s top dog right now, so I can’t wait.”

Those words might end up getting back to Jacksonville.

Tyreek Hill wants the challenge of facing Jalen Ramsey

There’s nothing wrong with what Hill said, and to be honest the NFL needs some more personality. Some good-natured back-and-forth between opponents wouldn’t hurt anything.

Hill wasn’t exactly ripping Ramsey, though his “He’s all right, I guess” will probably be dissected. Hill is among the best receivers in the NFL, and he wants to be tested against a player many consider the best cornerback.

“I’m always up for a challenge,” Hill said, according to Teicher. “The best always go against the best.”

Chiefs vs. Jaguars is a fun matchup

It’ll be a great matchup Sunday, and not just Hill vs. Ramsey. The explosive Chiefs offense, led by the incredible start of second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes, faces off against the Jaguars’ rugged defense. With the Vikings slumping, there’s little debate that the Jaguars have the best defense in football.

Hill against Ramsey will be a big part of the matchup. Hill said he hopes Ramsey press-covers him, and that would be fun to watch. Not many cornerbacks can keep up with Hill, but Ramsey is one of them.

Maybe we’ll even get a full-scale war of words during the showdown.
