Rising senior guard Tyra Buss is one of 40 players invited to Team USA Women's Basketball's U23 Training Camp, the organization announced Tuesday.
Buss will join the rest of the participants at the team tryouts in Colorado Springs, Colorado, July 31-Aug. 4 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
"I am grateful and humbled for the opportunity to be selected for USA Basketball Women's U23 team trials," Buss said in a release. "This is an opportunity of a lifetime to compete with some of the best collegiate players in the country and will be a valuable experience for my continued development as I prepare for my senior year at Indiana."
Louisville's Jeff Walz serves as the team's head coach with Princeton's Courtney Banghart and Western Kentucky's Michelle Clark-Heard as his assistants. UCONN's Genu Auriemma will lead the clinic portion of the training camp and guide all sessions outside of the team practices and games.
Those who make the roster will compete in the inaugural Four Nations Tournament for college-aged women Aug. 12-15 in Tokyo, Japan. The United States will compete against Australia, Canada and Japan in a round-robin tournament.
Buss, a native of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, was a WBCA All-American honorable mention as a junior. She averaged 18.4 points, 4.7 assists, 2.4 steals and 3.2 rebounds per game en route to a second straight All-Big Ten First Team selection.
