Tying a bow on an ugly playoff start for the Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs just wrapped up the first two games of their opening-round series with the Boston Bruins and, for Toronto, it didn’t go very well.

Boston laid an absolute beatdown on the Maple Leafs, who looked young, inexperienced and overwhelmed by a Bruins attack that netted a dozen goals in the first six periods of the series. The Bruins No. 1 line of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak has been particularly lethal, tallying a whopping 20 points between them with the latter collecting a hat trick and six points in Boston’s 7-3 win on Saturday.

A lot went wrong for the Maple Leafs in Games 1 and 2 in Boston, and Yahoo Canada Sports’ Justin Cuthbert and Amit Mann were there to break down the carnage.
