Two soccer teams from Rockwall, one from Heath head to playoffs

Mar. 25—Two teams from Rockwall and one from Rockwall-Heath are headed to the University Interscholastic League state soccer playoffs.

The 16-3-2 Rockwall Lady Jackets, who won the District 10-6A title with a 12-0 record, are to take on the 10-11 Naaman Forest Lady Rangers of Garland at 7 p.m. Monday in a girls bi-district playoff game at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium in Rockwall.

Naaman Forest finished fourth in District 9-6A with an 8-8 record. Sachse and Wylie East tied for first place in 9-6A at 15-1. Wylie was third with a 12-4 record.

Rockwall outscored its 12 district opponents by a combined margin of 76-2.

Rockwall-Heath, the third seed from District 10-6A, will take on 21-1 Wylie East, the No. 2 seed from 9-6A, in a girls bi-district playoff at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ed Locker Stadium in Caddo Mills.

Heath went 9-3 in district play, outscoring its opponents 29-12.

Wylie East outscored its district opponents 102-7. The only blemish on the Lady Raiders' schedule was a 2-0 loss to Sachse. Wylie East won the first game against Sachse, 3-2.

Rockwall's 11-7-3 Yellowjackets will take on 22-2 Wylie in a boys bi-district playoff at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the Wylie ISD Stadium. Rockwall finished fourth in District 10-6A with a 6-4-2 record.

The Yellowjackets outscored their district opponents, 25-16 in goals.

Rockwall-Heath missed the boys playoffs after finishing fifth in the District 10-6A standings at 5-4-3.

Wylie won the District 9-6A boys title with a 15-1 record. The Pirates' only district loss was 4-1 to Rowlett. Wylie later avenged that loss with a 5-0 victory. The Pirates outscored their district opponents, 46-16.
