Three people were shot Tuesday when men in two cars exchanged gunfire in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Grapevine, police said.

The driver of one of the cars stopped across the street in the parking lot of a Jack in the Box after the shooting about 4:45 p.m. in the 3500 block of Grapevine Mills Boulevard, Grapevine police said. The other driver continued toward Freeport Parkway.

Police found outside the restaurant two men who had been shot. They were taken with serious injuries to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine, police said. One was medically cleared and taken to the Grapevine Detention Center. Police did not release the crime on which he was booked.

About 45 minutes after the shooting, a man approached a DFW Airport police officer at a Shell gas station and said the passenger in his car had been shot multiple times. The passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. He and the driver, who was arrested on suspicion of deadly conduct, had been involved in the shooting, police said.

Investigators found two guns and drugs at the crime scene.

Police said they would release the suspects’ names after they are arraigned. More arrests were possible, police said.
