Two Beavs projected in first round of 2020 WNBA Draft

The 2020 WNBA Lottery took place on Tuesday this week in Secaucus, New Jersey. With that, we get the draft order as well as the first projected mock draft. Two Oregon State women's basketball stars found their names projected in the first round, along with three other Pac-12 players slated in the first round.

Destiny Slocum, No. 8 overall to the Chicago Sky. The 5-foot-7 junior guard will have the choice to forgo the draft and return to Oregon State for her senior season.

There's no question that Slocum is skilled. She is a shifty, quick point guard who is not afraid to take it hard in the paint and doesn't shy away from contact.

Slocum has also been recognized with preseason All-American Third Team honors.

Let's not forget this shot she made when she was a freshman at Maryland University:

Slocum 2018-19 stats: 15.4 PPG, 4.5 APG

Mikayla Pivec, No. 10 overall to the Connecticut Sun. Pivec has been in control, the leader of this Beavers squad from the moment she stepped onto campus as a freshman. The 5-foot-10 is an excellent decision maker, knows how to run an offense and control the pace of a game and is a great on-ball defender.

Pivec 2018-19 stats: 15.2 PPG, 9.2 RPG

Best back-court in the Pac-12? Pivec and Slocum are quite the dynamic duo.

The Beavers open up the 2019 season at home against visiting UC Irvine on Saturday, November 9.
