Twitter reacts to Penn State’s NCAA Tournament announcement
Penn State’s NCAA Tournament drought came to an end on Sunday when the Nittany Lions were handed an at-large bid to this year’s tournament. The Nittany Lions, shortly after coming up two points shy in the Big Ten championship game against Purdue, were given a No. 10 seed in the Midwest Region and they will face Texas A&M on Thursday.
While most of the college basketball world was targeting a possible Texas A&M-Texas matchup in the second round, Penn State fans are once again embracing the underdog role in an attempt to spoil the storyline most seem to be running with already.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the NCAA Tournament announcement when Penn State returned to the Big Dance for the first time since 2011.

It’s been a long time coming for Penn State. The last time Penn State was in the NCAA Tournament, Twitter was still relatively new to the program.

A tweet years in the making, Penn State got the official word from the NCAA to bring a bunch of smiles to the team shortly after losing in the Big Ten championship game against Purdue.

Penn State is getting a tough draw with Texas A&M. The Aggies are also coming off a nice run to a conference championship game appearance in the SEC. The Aggies and Nittany Lions could be a good game, and former Villanova head coach Jay Wright loves the matchup.
They aren't supposed to be easy this time of year
Very VERY tough matchup for PSU with well-coached and tough Texas A&M team. Buzz Williams experienced in the tournament

Penn State is obviously getting a tough matchup in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, as noted by David Jones. But that is to be expected, right? When you get this far, nothing is supposed to be easy.
Time to play spoiler
Penn State definitely going to win with everyone looking forward to Texas-Texas A&M

The winner of the Penn State-Texas A&M game will get a possible shot at the Big 12 champions, the Texas Longhorns. And few outside of the Penn State fan base could miss the obvious storyline of a Texas-Texas A&M matchup to get to the Sweet 16. But what if Penn State beats both?

Look, this could very well make for a fun football matchup as well! And maybe AP college football writer Ralph Russo is tipping his hand at some early college football predictions, or maybe he’s just messing around. Either way, we wouldn’t be opposed to seeing this prediction play out either,
