After a slow start to the game by the Penn State offense, freshman running back Nick Singleton gave the Nittany Lions a big lift in the first quarter with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The score gave Penn State a 7-3 lead over Rutgers after the Scarlet Knights put the first dent in the scoreboard with a field goal.
It was the first career kickoff return touchdown by Singleton, and easily the best play on special teams by Penn State this season. And, naturally, it lit a charge on social media from Penn State Twitter.
But before we look at some of the Twitter reactions, here’s what the kickoff looked like.
here are some of the best Twitter reactions from the special teams highlight by Singleton.
As if he needs an introduction at this point
Nick Singleton, ladies and gentlemen.

It's bene a while since that happened!
Singleton goes 100 yards on the kickoff return for a score. It marks the 3rd time since 1975 Penn State has had a 100-yard kickoff return for a TD.
Penn State gets its first kickoff return for a TD since Lamont Wade went the distance against Michigan State in 2020.

Credit the blockers
Great blocking by Penn State on that Nicholas Singleton 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown but there had to be some blown assignments for Rutgers. Either way, it was as easy as they come. The Lions lead 7-3 in the first quarter.

Singleton's sped kills
Nick Singleton takes it 100 yards to the house. Didn't even have to do much. Saw a lane and shot upfield, blowing by everyone on Rutgers. PSU leads 7-3.

Unfortunately for Penn State, the moment was short-lived. Rutgers returned the ensuing kickoff all the way to the Penn State 20-yard line and regained the lead moments later with a go-ahead touchdown.
