Twitter reacts to Joey Porter Jr. getting selected by the Steelers

It was an interesting night for Joey Porter Jr. during the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. He was originally expected to be a top-20 pick according to mock draft analysts. Porter Jr. also told Pro Football Talk that he expected to be selected anywhere from the seventh pick to the 17th pick.

That was not the case for Porter Jr. on Thursday night.

In the green room, he saw himself fall out of the first round of the draft completely which was shocking to many analysts. It was certain that he would be selected in the second round because he was one of the highest-rated remaining players available to be selected.

Porter Jr.’s dad played for the Steelers and he had been expected to land in Pittsburgh from the beginning of the process. It officially came full circle on Friday when he was selected with the first pick of the second round.
