Twins to host 'Big Sexy' night in honor of Bartolo Colón
The Minnesota Twins’ marketing department knows what sells. Though 44-year-old pitcher Bartolo Colón has only been with the club since July, the Twins have already scheduled a night celebrating his career.

Sept. 15 will be “Big Sexy” night at Target Field. Yep, that’s happening.

The Twins are in the thick of the American League wild card race, so we imagine fans are coming out to the park already. We’re going to guess giving away those shirts should attract a slightly higher attendance.
As of right now, it doesn’t appear Colón will pitch on “Big Sexy” night. While he would be on five days rest, the Twins are off Monday. Colón pitched Sunday so his next scheduled start would be Saturday, just after “Big Sexy” night.
While the team could alter their rotation to make sure Colón goes on his night, we’re not so sure they should. Though he’s pitched well for Minnesota most of the year, he lasted just 1 2/3 innings Sunday after giving up six runs.
If the Twins do let Colón go on “Big Sexy” night, at least he’ll be well rested.
