TUF 30 heavyweight and women’s flyweight finals set for UFC on ESPN 40

All episodes of “The Ultimate Fighter 30” have streamed, and there’s nothing left to do but determine the finals winners.

Coached by UFC 277 headliners Julianna Peña and Amanda Nunes, who square off for a fight of their own July 30 in Dallas, the season began with eight heavyweights and eight women’s flyweights.

Over the course of 12 episodes, the pack was whittled down from 16 fighters to four. On Monday, ESPN+ streamed the season finale, which set the two “TUF 30” finals.

MMA Junkie has since learned the two finals bouts will take place as part of UFC on ESPN 40 on Aug. 6 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Heavyweight final: Zac Pauga (5-0) vs. Mohammed Usman (7-2)

Zac Pauga: A light heavyweight who bulked to compete as part of the heavyweight season, [autotag]Zac Pauga[/autotag] showed that size doesn’t always matter. A member of Elevation Fight Team, Pauga showed off his technical abilities and striking power when he defeated Nyle Bartling by unanimous decision before a TKO of Jordan Heiderman.

Mohammed Usman: Brother of UFC welterweight champion Kamaru, [autotag]Mohammed Usman[/autotag] made stops in PFL and Titan FC among other promotions prior to his UFC onboarding. A member of Fortis MMA and training under coach Sayif Saud, Usman has slowly but surely rounded out his game over recent fights. To reach the final, Usman defeated Mitchell Sipe by unanimous decision then Eduardo Perez by split decision.

Women's flyweight final: Juliana Miller (2-1) vs. Brogan Walker (7-2)

Julianna Miller: A skilled jiu-jitsu practitioner, [autotag]Juliana Miller[/autotag] has proved to be lethal when the fight hits the canvas. A close training partner and friend of former Bellator champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, Miller continues to sharpen her striking as her young career progresses. To reach the final, she defeated Claire Gutherie by unanimous decision then Kaitlyn Neil by submission.

Brogan Walker: The most experienced woman to partake in the season, [autotag]Brogan Walker[/autotag] proved to be a step ahead of the opponents she faced in the house. Walker enters the UFC with five Invicta FC fights under her belt, including a win over Miranda Maverick. To reach the final, she defeated Hannah Guy by majority decision before a unanimous decision win over Laura Gallardo.
