Tuesday's roundup | Howard helps Decatur Heritage roll past Falkville

Mar. 13—Olsen Howard drove in five to help the Decatur Heritage baseball team beat Falkville 12-5 on Tuesday.

Howard drove in his first run on a sacrifice fly, added three more on a three-run homer and tripled in another.

Bo Mitchell and Harrison Hardy added two RBIs each for the Eagles (9-2).

Owen Teague led Falkville two RBIs.

—Decatur 5, Lincoln County (Tenn) 4: Sam Stephenson hit a walk-off double for the Red Raiders, who trailed 4-3 going into the bottom of the sixth inning.

Stephenson and Grayson Marion both finished with two RBIs.

—Hatton 13, Lindsay Lane 7: Hatton scored 10 runs in the final two innings. Jalen Heaps and Bryson Jeffreys both finished with a trio of RBIs. Heaps also collected three hits.

—Elkmont 14, Danville 11: Corder Hobbs notched six RBIs to lead the Red Devils, while Clay Looney drove in three runs and Jake Guthrie had three hits. Avery Brewer led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs.

—Haleyville 7, Priceville 0: The Bulldogs managed just three hits, two of which came from Jake England.

—Ardmore 8, West Limestone 2: Zach Hall struck out 11, allowed four hits and gave up one run in six innings for Ardmore. Noah Stafford drove in four runs.

—Clements 4, Athens Bible 1: Brandon Atkins had three hits and scored two runs for the Colts.

Softball

—West Morgan 3, Danville 2: The Rebels scored two runs in the final inning. Jessica England drove in Adie Grace Rodgers on a sacrifice fly and then Josie Weems scored the go-ahead run on an error.

Chasity Rikard threw a four-hitter and struck out 14 for the Rebels. McKinley McCaghren tossed a seven-hitter for the Hawks.

—Austin 18, Ezell-Harding Christian (Tenn) 6: Arden Breedlove homered twice and Abby Lindsey homered once for the Black Bears.

Lindsey finished with four hits, four RBIs and four runs scored. Breedlove had three hits, four RBIs and four runs scored and Lyndi Perkins had four hits, three RBIs and two runs scored.

—Austin 14, Lenoir City (Tenn) 1: Claire Wright scored three runs for Austin. Callie Lang allowed one hit and one run with nine strikeouts in five innings.

—East Lawrence 13, Hanceville 3: Macey Austin homered and finished with three RBIs for the Eagles, while Mattie Rae Gillespie and Emma Coan both added three hits.

—Brewer 8, East Limestone 7: Ava Walls drove in two runs in the sixth inning to lead Brewer. Keylyn Stapler added three hits. Kailey Matthews led East Limestone with three RBIs.

—Falkville 24, Tanner 8: Falkville scored 15 runs in the first inning. Kasey Foote finished with four RBIs and Allie Smith scored four runs.

—Hatton 20, Sheffield 0: Hatton scored 16 runs in the first inning. Anna Kate Potter led the Hornets with three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Soccer

—Danville boys 1, J.B. Pennington 0: Huntley Segars scored the lone goal off an assist from Edward Ocampo for the Hawks.

—Danville girls 10, J.B. Pennington 0: Layla Sherrill had five goals and Brylee Terry had three for the Hawks. Tinsley Wallace and Maddie Sherrill each had one goal.
