Tua Tagovailoa's head injury in Cincinnati on Thursday night: Twitter reactions
Amazon Prime Video analysts drew criticism via social media for not mentioning during halftime of the Cincinnati Bengals' Thursday night game against Miami that Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a head injury during his team's win last week against the Buffalo Bills.
Tagovailoa, who appeared dazed and fell down after the hit against Buffalo, left the game in Cincinnati on a stretcher. Upon further evaluation, the Dolphins announced he was conscious and has movement in all his extremities.
Amazon's Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit did discuss during the fourth quarter of Thursday night's broadcast Tagovailoa's injury against Buffalo.
"This (injury against the Bengals) will open up a hornet's nest," Michaels said.
Social media reactions from Ryan Shazier - a former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker who offered praise of UC Medical Center for treatment he received after a spinal injury against the Bengals during the 2017 season - and others concerning Tua's injury and the Amazon coverage:
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 for tua. May god be with you and hopefully okay. The staff in UC hospital do a great job with care. Your in great hands. #DolphinsvsBengals

Amazon halftime show makes no mention of what happened to Tua on Sunday against Buffalo. No mention of Dolphins letting him play after he literally didn’t know where he was.

Prayers for Tua 🙏 Really infuriating that he was allowed to go back into last weeks game after clearly showing concussion signs.

Amazon says Mike McDaniel was able to talk to Tua Tagovailoa before the QB went to hospital, and Tua was actually asking about the play in question.

Many signals were there to give Tua more time after the game against the #Bills, the hit he took in that game, with the next one on deck on a short week......

This was Tua Tagovailoa 4 days ago against the Buffalo Bills, no doctor in their right mind should have cleared him to play tonight against the Bengals. pic.twitter.com/XQATk2UR5R

It’s horrific how bad Miami mismanaged that Tua Tagavailoa situation. Everybody and their mama knew dude had a concussion in that Bills game, yet they tried to lie and say it was a back issue as if we didn’t see what we saw.

UC Hospital is very good. He will get much better care there than he did from his employers. https://t.co/A2csn8QEaf

Amazon just did an entire halftime segment on Tua without mentioning that Tua was tested for a concussion 4 days ago or that the NFLPA requested an investigation.

I take no pleasure in being right. Pray for Tua. We saw this coming. Get angry. Get involved with @ConcussionLF to make sure the @NFL can't do this again. https://t.co/qbZLlgvk5S
