Redskins wide receiver Trey Quinn was forced to leave Sunday's contest against Carolina after suffering a brutal blow to the helmet while attempting to receive a punt.

The team has announced that Quinn will miss the remainder of the game with a concussion.

The second-year veteran was initially taken into the blue medical tent on the sideline for evaluation but was forced to head to the locker room for further testing.

Quinn did not call a fair catch, but was struck by Panthers' gunner DeAndrew White on a helmet-to-helmet collision before he was able to catch the ball.

White was flagged for catch interference but was not ejected.

With Quinn out, expect rookie Steven Sims to handle punt return duties.
