Trey Lipscomb hits home run in Fredericksburg debut

Former Vol Trey Lipscomb made his debut with the Fredericksburg Nationals Tuesday.

Fredericksburg is a Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Lipscomb went 2-for-5 against Augusta, totaling one home run, four RBIs and one run.

Lipscomb was selected by Washington in the third round (No. 84 overall) of the 2022 MLB draft.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Lipscomb appeared in 66 games for the Vols in 2022. He totaled 22 home runs, 84 RBIs, 68 runs, 89 hits, 19 doubles, three triples, 26 walks and four stolen bases.

Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference East division for the second consecutive season, the league regular season and tournament championships in 2022.

Lipscomb played at Urbana High School in Ijamsville, Maryland.
