It’s nothing but good news on the Trey Hendrickson front for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fans might remember Hendrickson struggling with back issues down the stretch in the playoffs in the middle of his superb 14-sack season.

But fast forward to the start of camp and Hendrickson says all is well.

“I feel great,” Hendrickson said, according to Jay Morrison and Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. “I think I had a good, good cast around me and weightlifting, conditioning and all that stuff. So I think and obviously being around my wife helps. So, you know, mentally, physically ready to go.”

Bengals fans had a very minimal cause for concern when Hendrickson was the only player besides franchise-tagged Jessie Bates to skip OTAs. But not only is Hendrickson one of two players without major workout bonuses, enabling him to keep training on his own, he had other non-football matters on the mind.

“Spending time on my wife is very important to me,” Hendrickson said. “We just had our second anniversary and, what she gave to me is something that is very special to me. And being there for her is important.”

Hendrickson, fully healthy and seemingly refreshed, is back with the Bengals now and practicing every day against that upgraded offensive line, likely making both units better in the process.
