Trevor Lawrence: The comeback says a lot about me, this team

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw just one incomplete pass in the second half Sunday as he led the team back from a 20-10 halftime deficit to win, 27-20.

It was a reversal of fortune for a Jaguars team that has struggled to finish games this season and has blown several fourth quarter leads.

“For us to be able to bounce back as a whole and go and win this game, especially under the circumstances that we were in early, I think it says a lot about, yeah, myself but also just this whole team,” Lawrence told reporters after the game. “We have a bunch of fighters and guys that aren’t going to quit.”

Lawrence, 23, finished the win with 25 completions on 31 attempts for 235 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. In the second half, Lawrence was 15-of-16 passing for 133 yards.

“We had a turnover early when we were driving in the red zone, and obviously you don’t want that,” Lawrence said of a fumbled pitch to JaMycal Hasty in the first quarter. “We’ll learn from that one, but stuff is going to happen in games, and you have to find ways to overcome them. I think that’s the coolest thing is we found ways to overcome it today. It’s not like we played perfect, but we found a way to win.”

The Jaguars’ comeback from a 17-0 deficit early was the second largest in franchise history. The only larger one was a 21-point come-from-behind win against the New York Giants in 2014.
