Trail Blazers PA Announcer Mark Mason to be featured in NBA 2k22 originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest

Okay, this is awesome, Rip City!

Now you don’t have to be attending a Portland Trail Blazers game at Moda Center to hear beloved Blazers PA announcer Mark Mason.

NBA 2k announced that the video game will now feature all 30 teams' PA announcers.

Mason introduces himself on NBA 2k22 while explaining how much he loves to introduce Damian Lillard at the end of the starting lineups. He also really enjoys when Jusuf Nurkic has a big dunk and he can speak in Bosnian, which Nurk has taught him a little bit of over the years.

Mason also has some great advice for anyone aspiring to be a PA announcer.

I don’t try and top the crowd. I just try and stay a little bit underneath them and let them do the work.

-- Mark Mason on NBA 2k22

Mason, who is a long-time Portland radio show host, has been the Blazer public address announcer since the 1996-97 season.

“Portland Trail Blazers fans are loyal, enthusiastic, knowledgeable – they know the game,” Mason added.

We can’t wait for NBA 2k22 to be released on Sept. 10.

Rip City is ready, Mark Mason!
