When McCollum super fan @TitaniumPanda88 expressed disappointment her favorite player would not take the court for her first Trail Blazers game, McCollum delivered a surprise response.

McCollum is expected to miss at least the next week as he recovers from a popliteus strain in his left knee. The team's second-leading scorer sustained the injury in Saturday's 108-103 loss to the Spurs and had to be helped to the locker room.

Following the game, McCollum underwent X-Rays, which came back negative. An MRI on Sunday indicated McCollum has a popliteus strain in his left knee and he would be sidelined for at least a week before being re-evaluated. Rodney Hood, Seth Curry, Evan Turner and Jake Layman are the most likely candidates to fill-in minutes during McCollum's absence.

As of Monday, Portland holds down the fourth spot in a tight Western Conference. The Blazers are just 1.5 games behind Houston and a half-game ahead of Oklahoma City with the Pacers, Mavs and Pistons all on the schedule.
