The Blazers announced Sunday afternoon that they have officially signed free agent forward Derrick Jones Jr.

Trail Blazers President of basketball operations Neil Olshey made the announcement while adding:

Derrick’s elite athleticism, defensive versatility and ability to rebound on both ends of the floor enable him to make an immediate impact in multiple areas of need.

At 6’6” and 210 points, the 23-year-old averaged 8.5 points on 52.7 percent shooting from the field to go along with 3.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.98 steals in 23.3 minutes of action while playing in 59 games for the Miami Heat during the 2019-20 season.

For his career, Jones holds averages of 6.7 points and 3.5 rebounds.
