Little Live Pets Rollie My Kissing Puppy ($35)
If your kid has been asking for a dog, this toy just might hold him or her over for a while. The interactive, huggable pup does more than 25 different sounds and actions, including kissing, licking and wagging its tail when it’s happy, just like a real dog. It even comes with an adoption certificate.

“It’s something that I’m really excited about for this holiday season,” says Myka. “It does tons of interactive things. Literally, it’s like a real puppy without the responsibility. So if you’re thinking about getting a pet for your child, this might be a good starter for you.”

This learning toy has a magnetic drawing board designed to help kids ages 3 to 6 practice how to write with interactive writing and drawing activities. The tool lets kids practice their upper- and lowercase letters and teaches them how to write their name, step by step. “This is something that I think is just going to make learning more fun,” says Myka. “Immediately what it’s doing is kind of telling you how to write certain letters, like J. And it gives you specific instructions on how to write that.”

James adds that it’s also a great toy to bring along on road trips.

With this fun and silly game, players ages 4 and up place the “noodles” in the bowl and put the Yeti on top. Players then take turns removing one noodle at a time without letting the Yeti fall to the bottom of the bowl. (It’s game over if you do.) “It looks like a super-fun game because our kids get to practice their motor skills [and] they all get to interact,” says James.
