Torrey Craig (Denver Nuggets) with a dunk vs the Los Angeles Lakers, 09/24/2020
A scary moment took place in the third quarter of Washington's game vs. the Dallas Cowboys when linebacker Jon Bostic put a late hit to the helmet of QB Andy Dalton, knocking his helmet off and leaving him motionless on the turf for a couple of seconds. Dalton eventually was able to walk off the field under his own power, and Bostic was disqualified for the rest of the game, but it was a play that you never hope to see in the NFL, and one that the league has been doing everything they can to try and get rid of over the last few years. It was also a play that Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy was a bit frustrated with, seeing how the rest of his team reacted.
People are going in on ex-NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia after he criticized Cam Newton during NBC Sports Bay Area's San Francisco 49ers postgame show. Garcia essentially said that Newton shouldn't dress the way he does because he's not playing well. "You get yanked in the second half, there's nothing good going your way," Garcia, who played for the 49ers for part of his NFL career, said.
The list of offensive players who have experienced massive career upticks when they escaped the confines of head coach and alleged offensive genius Adam Gase in either Miami or with the Jets is growing exponentially, and is yet another indictment of Gase's continued employment… well, anywhere. The Jets released Bell on October 13, and the Chiefs signed him two days later. Reid is too smart for it not to, as is offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Todd Gurley was not happy. “I was mad as hell,” the Atlanta Falcons running back said of mistakenly scoring the go-ahead touchdown with 1:04 left in Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. Gurley tried to stop short of the goal line but he failed.
Of course, there's a chance that quarterback Tom Brady would intervene on Brown's behalf, in the event that Arians would decided Brown should be gone. Brown is there only because of Brady, who began his effort to bring Brown to Tampa in March and who persisted until it got done.
On that score, we all can relate to Manuel Margot and to the words he used late Sunday in Arlington, Texas. “I thought it was a good idea at the time,” Margot said. Margot plays for the Tampa Bay Rays, and the idea he had was to steal home, right there in the middle of the World Series.
The Atlanta Falcons lost to the Detroit Lions in shocking fashion on Sunday, thanks to a brutal mental mistake from running back Todd Gurley. With the Falcons trailing 16-14 late in the game, Gurley took a run up the gut into the end zone to give Atlanta the lead. Unfortunately, Gurley would have been better off going to the ground, as his touchdown gave an extra possession to the Lions.

Roberts' assessment of Betts trade with Red Sox is fitting originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston Red Sox fans may have to watch one former Boston outfielder manage a team starring another former Boston outfielder to a World Series victory. Dave Roberts' Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from a championship after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in Sunday night's Game 5. A big reason why they're on the doorstep of a title is right fielder Mookie Betts, who has lived up to his All-Star expectations after the Red Sox traded him to Los Angeles this winter.
The object is to protect the quarterback. Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has to think about taking care of himself first after getting destroyed in the second quarter against the Washington Football Team on Sunday. Check this out as Cole Holcomb freight-trains the super Cowboys RB.

The debut of Big Ten football in 2020 had it all: Impressive victories, shocking defeats, outstanding performances and serious blunders. Since Harbaugh had arrived at Michigan, the Wolverines have rarely risen to the occasion against quality opponents on the road. Entering the season opener Saturday against Minnesota, they were 1-7 against top-25 teams away from Ann Arbor under Harbaugh.
Khabib Nurmagomedov insisted he's “not interested” in facing Conor McGregor again after announcing his retirement from the UFC. The Russian defeated Justin Gaethje in the second round to retain his lightweight title in the main event at UFC 254. The Notorious is pencilled in to fight Dustin Poirier in January, another victim of Khabib, with the undefeated lightweight champion dismissing both fighters and underlining that he has nothing to prove.
Cody Parkey's infamous double-doink has been eclipsed by a four-doinker. It may be the most insane missed field goal you've ever seen. Rice just basically kneeled three straight plays and kicked a 45 yard fg for the win in OT and this happened.
The Russian shockingly announced his retirement on Abu Dhabi's 'Fight Island' after the main event, which marked the biggest payday of his career. Nurmagomedov, who submitted interim champion Gaethje in the second round with a triangle choke on Saturday, also picked up a £40,000 bonus for Performance of the Night and £40,000 in fight week incentive pay. Early last week, UFC president Dana White suggested that the event was on target to be the biggest selling PPV the promotion had ever staged.
Max Kellerman finally admits he was wrong about Tom Brady originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston As if 2020 wasn't already weird enough, another bizarre event took place Monday on ESPN's First Take. Max Kellerman admitted he was wrong about Tom Brady. Yes, after years of saying the ex-New England Patriots quarterback's play is "falling off a cliff," Kellerman looked at the camera and conceded.
Raiders coach Jon Gruden will have to face the team he took to a Super Bowl title in 2002 despite being without his entire starting offensive line for most of the week. Per a league source, Gruden is “livid” that the game wasn't postponed to Monday or Tuesday night, in order to give him a chance to get ready for the game those offensive linemen who were sent home for most of the week due to enhanced COVID-19 protocols that automatically knock out other healthy players based on the official results (more on that in a bit) of contact tracing. The Raiders, who were off last week, had the offensive linemen present for a Monday practice, but they weren't cleared to return until Saturday, missing the most important practice days of the week.
Minnesota might be in trouble for the long term, due to the team's current record and big-money players under contract. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the team could be rectifying that in an attempt to cut more salary cap space. La Canfora reported that the Vikings are very open to moving safety Harrison Smith, left tackle Riley Reiff and tight end Kyle Rudolph if they can find the right takers.
Indiana jumped into The Associated Press college football poll Sunday after pulling off the weekend's most dramatic upset and Ohio State moved up to No. 3 following a dominant season debut. The Tigers received 52 first-place votes and the Crimson Tide got the remaining 10. Ohio State leaped two spots after easily dispatching Nebraska as the Big Ten Conference kicked off its pandemic-delayed and abbreviated season.
