Top six: Maxwell Roy has Rutgers making the cut

Maxwell Roy has Rutgers football making the cut in a top six that is dominated by Big Ten programs.

A four-star defensive lineman from St. Joseph’s (Philadelphia), Roy has Rutgers in the top six alongside Duke, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Wisconsin.

At 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, Roy has the size to be a dominant interior defensive lineman in the Big Ten. He combines strength with good quickness and athleticism to become a force in the interior.

His ability to control the inside of the line while taking on multiple blockers was a big reason why St. Joseph’s finished last season 13-1. They closed out the season with 13 straight wins after a season-opening loss to IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida).

Roy posted his top six on Wednesday morning via his social media:

A four-star according to Rivals, Roy is the No. 195 player in the nation in the 2025 recruiting class. He is the fourth-ranked player in Pennsylvania and the tenth-ranked defensive tackle nationally.
