Point Guard

Devonte’ Graham - Charlotte Hornets (vs. San Antonio Spurs)

With LaMelo Ball and Cody Zeller out of the picture for tonight against the San Antonio Spurs, the Charlotte Hornets will need some key players to step up in order to have a chance at a win. The Spurs are - 5 point favorites with a 224.5 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com. Considering Charlotte’s injuries, Graham will likely enter the starting lineup. He is an aggressive scorer and will be heavily needed in this matchup. Graham has been playing off the bench recently. With Ball out and Terry Rozier labeled as “probable” at the moment, I would assume the Hornets prioritize Graham’s skill set tonight against a Spurs team that are allowing opponents to shoot 37.5 % from beyond the arc, ranking 9th highest in the league. Popular but a necessary investment for tonight’s eight-game slate.

Shooting Guard

Tyrese Haliburton - Sacramento Kings (vs. Cleveland Cavaliers)

In yesterday’s article, I mentioned, “The Cleveland Cavaliers lead the league in allowed blocks at an average of six per game. They also lead the league in steals allowed per game with 8.6. Lastly, the Cavaliers allow their opponents to shoot 39.1% from beyond the arc, which is ranked second highest in the league.” Why did I just repeat this? I’ll tell you. Tonight, Haliburton sees Cleveland and he is the perfect player to benefit from these stats. Haliburton is second on the Kings with 48 steals on the year, he is ranked 3rd on the team with 21 blocks, and lastly, Haliburton comes in 2nd on the team with 77 three-point makes so far this season. The Kings are favored by - 4 points with a 223.5 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com. This is my top play of the slate.

Other SG Option: Jordan Clarkson - Utah Jazz (vs. Chicago Bulls)

Small Forward

Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks (vs. Indiana Pacers)

The big news of the day is that Giannis Antetokounpo is labeled as “doubtful” for tonight‘s match-up with the Indiana Pacers. There are not many players in the National Basketball Association that take up more offensive usage than Giannis. This will allow for massive value plays starting with, Khris Middleton. Middleton is going to be highly rostered on tonight’s slate. Milwaukee’s small forward has averaged 31.2 DraftKings points per game over his last five games averaging 34 minutes a game. Without Giannis, Middleton will see as much usage and time on the court as possible. This is chalk that you’re just going to have to eat tonight. The NBC Sports Edge NBA Optimizer has Middleton projected for 46.1 DK points at a salary of $7,600. The Milwaukee Bucks are favored by - 5.5 points with a 231.5 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com.

Other SF Options: Gordon Hayward - Charlotte Hornets (vs. San Antonio Spurs)

Power Forward

Bobby Portis - Milwaukee Bucks (vs. Indiana Pacers)

Bobby Portis will step in for Antetokounmpo assuming he cannot play tonight. Over his last five games, Portis is averaging 17.8 fantasy points per game over 16.6 MPG. When Giannis is absent from Milwaukee’s lineup, Portis capitalizes. Bobby is active on the boards and capable of taking threes. He will be especially useful against an Indiana team that allows their opponents to shoot 37.5% from beyond the arc while allowing 44.8 rebounds per game. Portis is sitting at valuable salaries around the industry on FanDuel, Draftkings, and YahooSports. Sabonis will be a tough matchup for Portis, therefore it would make sense to hedge your exposure to Bobby Portis with minimal exposure to Milwaukee’s backup power forward tonight, PJ Tucker (as a long shot GPP play). As mentioned above, the Milwaukee Bucks are favored by - 5.5 points with a 231.5 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com.

Other PF Option: Domantas Sabonis - Indiana Pacers (vs. Milwaukee Bucks)

Center

Derrick Favors - Utah Jazz (vs. Chicago Bulls)

If Rudy Gobert sits tonight, Favors will see extra minutes and usage. I wouldn’t expect much of a ceiling from the 29-year-old big man but logically he should reach value at his current salaries. In a favorable matchup, with rock bottom salaries, Favors can help you start your lineup with a little salary flexibility. Monitor Gobert’s availability leading up until lock at the NBC Sports Edge Starting Lineups page.

Other C Option: Christian Wood - Houston Rockets (vs. Toronto Raptors)
