On Wednesdays, we'll introduce the students who make up Year 8 of High School Confidential, powered by Danville Area Community College. Next up: Blue Ridge's Addison Warsaw. Follow her on Snapchat (@addison-ml) and Instagram (@addisonml_).

We're not the only ones impressed with Addison's contributions. The folks in Farmer City honored the senior with a Chamber of Commerce Student of the Year award.

Addison considers it "an honor," adding "I am grateful for the teachers who nominated me and pushed me to work hard."

Addison, who plans to major in journalism in college, is definitely deserving of the recognition. She is involved in Scholastic Bowl, yearbook, student council, Key Club, Knight Buddies, basketball, track, band and cheerleading. She's looking forward to prom, senior trip and "when my class gets to move the tassel to the other side of our caps," she said.

Count on a celebration in her hometown of Mansfield.

"The best part about living (there) is how close I am to my family," she said. "Many of my loved ones live only 10 minutes away from me, so it is very easy for me to see them regularly."
