On Wednesdays, we'll introduce the students who make up Year 8 of High School Confidential, powered by Danville Area Community College. Next up: Monticello's Tynley Jackson. Follow her on X (@Tynley24).

A college-bound soccer player, Tynley Jackson can't wait to take a spring spin on Monticello's spiffy new athletic complex.

This spring "will be the first full season on the new turf," she said. "We got a small taste of the turf last year with some games at the end of the season, but it is super exciting to have the new scoreboard, bleachers and press box for the first time this season. The whole area now feels like a proper place to play."

Tynley's headed to Kaskaski College to major in accounting and play soccer, a sport that's had her full attention the last 11 years.

"It's crazy to think I am about to start my final semester," she said.

She digs living in White Heath —"I enjoy going on runs and taking in the view" — and is a big help at Monticello (Spanish Club, Pep Club, Lifesavers, Student Advisory Group) in addition to her High School Confidential role. Visit news-gazette.com to read her excellent reports from the first 13 weeks.

"The best part about being my school's reporter is getting to learn about things going on in the school I never really heard about," she said. "It has also allowed me to talk to people in the school that I never would have before."
