Tom Brady's niece hits two homers, leading UCLA past No. 1 Oklahoma in Women's College World Series

Talent certainly does run in the family of the GOAT.

Maya Brady, the center fielder for the UCLA softball team and the niece of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, had quite the game Monday against top-ranked Oklahoma in the first game of the semifinals of the Women's College World Series. Brady hit two home runs and drove in five runs as the Bruins beat the Sooners 7-3 to stave off elimination.

With the Bruins already leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Brady, a redshirt sophomore, sent a high-blast to center off Oklahoma pitcher Nicole May, scoring Briana Perez and Delanie Wisz to extend the lead to 5-1 for fifth-seeded UCLA.

Oklahoma's Grace Lyons cut the lead to two with her own two-run blast in the fourth, but Brady came up in the top of the seventh and this time took a 2-2 pitch from Jordy Bahl and sent it to left field, stretching the Bruins' lead to four runs.

Brady was named Freshman of the Year by Softball America in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season and an NFCA First Team All-American in 2021. She was a third-team all-conference pick this season.

UCLA plays the Sooners later Monday with the winner advancing to the championship round.
