Brady tosses the Lombardi Trophy over the water to Gronk originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Buccaneers celebrated their Super Bowl victory in traditional fashion, parading the coveted Lombardi Trophy through the city on Wednesday. But in the age of the coronavirus pandemic and in a city like Tampa Bay, they decided to move the festivities to the water.

There's always concern for the safety of the trophy, especially when there are large bodies of water involved.

Unless you're Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, that is.

The Super Bowl LV MVP was seen tossing the Lombardi Trophy from his boat to Gronk's, clearing about ten yards of water.

Brady clearly wanted to connect with one of his favorite targets just one more time. The duo had already won three Super Bowls together in New England before blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday to give Gronkowski his fourth and Brady his seventh.

You can either blame Brady's decision to toss the trophy on liquid courage or a tremendous amount of trust after so many years playing together. Honestly, it was probably a little bit of both. Either way, it was a wild move.

But I guess when you're as familiar with the trophy as Brady and Gronk are, you're not worried about the repercussions of losing one.

At worst, you can always go get another next year...
