Tom Brady jokes about Aaron Rodgers 'owning' Bears, takes shot at Jets
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady likes it when other quarterbacks claim ownership over another NFL franchise, but he's going to stay humble ... unless it involves the New York Jets.
Brady took a shot at his old rival while congratulating Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on owning the Chicago Bears.
Rodgers drew attention during Sunday's win for shouting "I own you" at Bears fans after scoring a rushing touchdown. Rodgers defended that comment Wednesday.
After making his joke, Brady was asked what rival NFL franchises he owns. He quickly diffused the situation when asked about the Buffalo Bills, but couldn't help himself when asked about the Jets.

"Oh, no. I'll just take the color green. I don't need the Jets," Brady said. "I'll just own the color green. I think that's a little bit better."
Tom Brady has dominated Jets
If you base it on numbers, Brady could "own" the Jets in the same way Rodgers "owns" the Bears. Brady has a 29-7 record against the Jets in the regular season. He's thrown for 8,649 yards and 57 touchdowns against New York.
Despite that, Brady wouldn't want to claim ownership of the Jets. The team hasn't won a Super Bowl since 1968. That drought is far too long by Brady's standards. Since joining the NFL, Brady averages a Super Bowl win once every three years.
