JORI EPSTEIN: Your former Patriots also shifted play callers this year, hiring Bill O'Brien to come back. You know what it's like working with him as a position coach, with a coordinator. How would you describe his play style compared to other OCs you worked with? And what do you expect from Mac with him this year?

TOM BRADY: Yeah, I loved my time with Billy. He was a great addition to our team when he came in '07. We worked together very closely 2009, 2010, 2011. Then he went on to success at Penn State, his success at Houston, and then at Alabama. And now he's back with the Patriots. So it's hard to find good coaches in the NFL. Billy is certainly one of them. He's very talented, very smart. And Mac's a very talented young player.

So a lot of what's going to happen in the NFL is going to be determined by what these guys do under pressure, when it matters the most, and how they can continue to evolve and grow from this point on. No one's a finished product. I think the team that you are in the offseason may become a little different by training camp, may be a little different by week one, which may be a little different by week 10.

Everything evolves and changes. And you've got to be adept to all the different challenges and circumstances that come with a very difficult NFL season. So we're a long way from the finish line. We're not even at the starting line yet. But a lot of teams think they're better than they are right now. Some teams are worse than they think they are right now. And that's just the reality of life in the NFL.

JORI EPSTEIN: Yeah, I think one thing you said in particular really stuck with me, which is that it's hard to find really good coaches in the NFL. Bill Belichick is obviously on that mountain of among the best, if not the best. That said, two losing seasons in the last three years. Robert Kraft recently said, "In the end, this is a business. You either execute and win or you don't. That's where we're at." Is it crazy to even think of him on a hot seat? Or, I mean, what do you make of some of that conversation?

TOM BRADY: I think Bill Belichick's one of the greatest coaches that the-- in the world of sports and that the world of sports has ever seen. So there's nobody that's had more success than him. He's incredibly talented, very hardworking. It was a pleasure playing for him. I mean, I really learned so much from him. And my football experience was enhanced because I had an amazing coach like him, along with a lot of other great players in that organization, other great coaches that I've alluded to. So I have tremendous faith in Coach Belichick.
