Toliver paces Jimmies at 2023 NAIA Track and Field Championships

May 25—MARION, In. — The University of Jamestown has finished off their run at the 2023 NAIA men's and Women's Track and Field National Championships with the men's team finishing in a six-way tie for 21st and the women's team finishing unranked. The Jimmies men's team finished with six points.

The five Jimmies have all participated so far with the best finish coming from Jordynn Toliver, who finished in second in the javelin portion of the heptathlon with a throw of 139 feet, eight inches. The other top-five finish came from Jorden Morales who finished third in the discus with a throw of 171 feet, one inch. The Jimmies' other competitor in the discus was Tyler Dean who finished in 24th with a throw of 147 feet, eight inches.

Toliver finished the heptathlon with a score of 4,280. In the javelin portion that wasn't part of the heptathlon, Toliver finished in 15th with a throw of 130 feet, 11 inches. The Jimmies' Dawson Sedivic finished in 19th with a throw of 158' feet, 10 inches. The Jimmies' Anni Stier finished in 19th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.70.

"They all went out and competed," Jimmies head coach Jarvis Jelen said. "Jorden was in the best position to be really competitive at this level and she went out and executed to finish off well for us."
