Tokyo Olympics schedule: Women's soccer semifinals highlight Day 10 in Tokyo
Canada stands as the United States' women's soccer team's penultimate test en route to the gold medal match, Monday in the tournament's semifinal.
The U.S. defeated the Netherlands in a nail-biting penalty kick shootout to move on from the quarterfinals Friday. If the women were to move on, it will be the sixth time they play in the final. Only once have the Americans not appeared in the gold medal match during the sport's history at the Olympics.
If the U.S. wins out, it would be the fifth gold medal the team won at the Olympics. No other nation has won multiple gold medals in women's soccer at the Olympics.
