Tokyo Olympics schedule: Gymnastics women's team final, softball gold medal game headline Day 4

The Tokyo Olympics is in full swing, and Tuesday’s schedule is packed with different events from archery to weightlifting. It’s actually easier to list the sports with the day off than those competing: Artistic swimming, baseball, golf, karate, modern pentathlon, rhythmic gymnastics, skateboarding, sport climbing, track and field, trampoline and wrestling are all off Tuesday in Tokyo.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of action to take in. The headliner will be the women’s gymnastics team final, which will take place during Tokyo’s primetime and air live bright and early in the United States. The U.S. women’s gymnastics team is hoping to bounce back from a disappointing qualifier and win the gold that nearly everyone predicted they would.

For those that don’t want to stay up — or wake up — in the early morning, swimming kicks off at 9:30 p.m. ET. Between then and 11 p.m. ET, there are four women’s events (2 semifinals, 2 finals) and three men’s events (1 semifinal, 2 finals).

In total, there will be finals in 14 events. The United States and Japan will compete in softball’s gold-medal game at 7 a.m. ET (8 p.m. in Tokyo) — a rematch of the 2008 gold-medal game, won by Japan in Beijing. Additional medal events include canoe/kayak, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, judo, rowing, shooting, taekwondo, triathlon and weightlifting.

Simone Biles competes in the uneven bars in the Tokyo Olympics women's gymnastics qualifications on July 25.
