Walk-on Toby Wilson had his black strip removed earlier Wednesday. Wilson is the son of Ohio State offensive coordinator, Kevin Wilson.
The offensive lineman from Olentangy high school had offers from other schools such as Akron, Navy, and even West Virginia, but opted to stay close to home and play for dad. Wilson has played in three game so far this season, seeing action against Akron, Rutgers, and Maryland. He is the first walk-on to shed his black stripe this season.
Check out what Wilson had to say after finding out the news and giving dear ol’ dad a shout out as well.
“I want to thank Coach Stud, Coach Mick, Coach Day… Coach Wilson, what’s up? My O-line room. Go Bucks!”

With Harry Miller sidelined for most of the season so far, Wilson has been getting second-team reps at center. Wilson is the eighth Buckeye to lose his black stripe in the 2021 season.
