The Detroit Lions selected Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson with their first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and it was as much a need pick as it was a great pick.
Brad Evans explains how not only can Hockenson become Matthew Stafford’s new security blanket now that Golden Tate is gone, but he is set to be on the field for probably every down as a blocker and receiver.
Considering the fantasy tight end landscape in 2018, the bar isn’t exactly high for Hockenson to be valuable this upcoming season, too.
Yahoo fantasy football expert Liz Loza had this to say about the talented former Hawkeye:
Last year DET targeted the TE position over 60 times. Hock is a near perfect prospect. Could put up low-end TE1 fantasy numbers in his rookie outing.
