Texas commission overturns Tito Ortiz's win for unknown reasons
Tito Ortiz’s third win a row — his longest streak since 2006 — has been wiped out.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has overturned Ortiz’s win over former WWE star Alberto El Patron from December, ruling it as a no decision according to MMA Junkie.
“The results of the fight were changed pending further investigation,” TDLR spokeswoman Tela Mange told MMA Junkie, declining to elaborate what could be amiss with Ortiz’s win.
Tito Ortiz’s win on ice — for now
The fight was 44-year-old Ortiz’s first with Combate Americas, a promotion led by El Patron as president. Taking place at Combate Americas 51, Ortiz originally won in the first round with a rear-naked choke submission.
Ortiz had previously announced his retirement from MMA in 2017, but returned to the sport in 2018 for a third fight against Chuck Liddell. After getting his first win over the UFC great, Ortiz signed a three-fight, two-year contract with Combate Americas.
The win over El Patron managed to garner a shout-out from President Donald Trump, of whom Ortiz is an outspoken supporter.

Combate Americas officials were reportedly informed of the ruling by MMA Junkie on Tuesday, and later confirmed the decision after inquiring with the Texas commission. Given that the commission is still investigating, the ruling may not be permanent.
