The Tennessee Titans are going to have a few more bucks to spend thanks to the amount of cap space they are carrying over into the 2021 league year.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the salary cap carryover numbers have been finalized and the Titans’ figure is a shade over $8 million.

That means if the league-wide salary cap is set at $180 million, Tennessee would have an adjusted cap figure of $188 million to work with.

As it stands now, if the 2021 salary cap settles at $180.5 million, the Titans have $6.4 million in cap space, and that’s with the recent cut of Adam Humphries included, per Over the Cap.

Cutting Humphries was just the start of what we believe are multiple cuts coming, with the Titans needing funds to improve their pass rush and wide receiver corps., first and foremost. Look for general manager Jon Robinson to also try and restructure some contracts.

An interesting note from ESPN’s Dianna Russini the other day: she reports that an unnamed NFL head coach told her “it’s going to be a massacre next week all around the league.”

Hold onto your hats; the next few weeks around the entire league might be wild.

Free agency is right around the corner. The “legal tampering” period begins on March 15, when teams can start negotiating and coming to agreements with players, but no deals can be made official until March 17 at 4 p.m. ET.
