A.J. Brown admitted that he didn't have his best game for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

The third-year receiver from Ole Miss caught five passes for 42 yards on 11 targets. Brown also had a pair of uncharacteristic drops, both of which came on third down.

Brown saw a lot of coverage by Rams defensive back Jalen Ramsey, one of the league's best cornerbacks.

"Some of the plays I didn't make today, he won," Brown said after the game.

But Brown was also clearly irritated by some away-from-the-play activity by Ramsey, who is known to play with emotion. Some of the activity led to penalties, with the two players being flagged for taunting each other late in the first half. Ramsey was charged with two personal foul penalties, including one after his first quarter interception when he knocked Brown over on the Titans sideline.

"I don’t mind the chirping, but little things after the play, little dirty stuff, I’m not going for it," Brown said. "I'm a man first. I'm here to play football. I’m not trying to fight nobody. But I'm not taking (expletive) though."

"He knows me. He has my number if he wants to see me," Brown continued later. "That ain’t no threat, I'm just saying — He knows me. If he wants to talk to me, get at me. He has my number."

Ramsey and Brown had played against each other just once previously, with Ramsey's final Jaguars game coming in a Titans loss on September 2019. Brown, a rookie at the time, had one catch on five targets.
