Titans injury updates on QB Ryan Tannehill, WR Treylon Burks

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has missed the last two games because of an ankle injury, and while the signal-caller says he’s progressing, he’s still dealing with pain.

Tannehill suffered the ankle injury in the Week 7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

In his stead, rookie quarterback Malik Willis has started the last two games, but Tennessee’s already struggling passing attack has fallen even further.

Neither Tannehill nor head coach Mike Vrabel would commit to Tannehill playing this week, but the former did admit he’ll be dealing with pain for awhile, which means he’ll be playing hurt even if he does suit up.

Tannehill also noted he plans on practicing on Wednesday, but to what extent remains to be seen. We’ll know more when the injury report is released later.

Tannehill may not be the only key offensive player returning this week, as 2022 first-round pick and wide receiver Treylon Burks was designated to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.

Burks now has 21 days to be activated, but from all accounts the expectation is that he’ll play this week. However, neither he nor Vrabel would commit to that, as the Titans are in wait-and-see mode with the rookie, who has been sidelined the last four weeks with turf toe.
