Titans extend TE Walker for two years, $17 million

The Tennessee Titans signed tight end Delanie Walker to a two-year extension on Friday, the team announced.

Terms were not disclosed, but according to multiple reports, the deal is worth $17 million with $12.8 million guaranteed.

Walker, who turns 34 on Aug. 12, was entering the final year of a two-year, $14.7 million extension signed in May of 2016. He is due $6.2 million in 2018, putting him on the books for a total of $23.2 million over the next three years.

The 13th-year veteran is riding a string of three straight Pro Bowl appearances, the first three of his career. He caught 74 passes for 807 yards and four total touchdowns (one rushing) last year, topping 800 yards for the fourth consecutive season.

Walker has missed just four games in five seasons since joining the Titans as a free agent, and he's averaged 71 catches for 831 yards and five scores per season in Nashville.

Behind Walker, the Titans have 2017 third-round pick Jonnu Smith, who caught 18 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns while starting 13 games and playing in all 16 last season.
