Tigers regroup with win over Jeff

Apr. 19—The Lebanon baseball team snapped a three-game losing streak on Thursday night, topping Lafayette Jeff 2-0.

Wesley Byrd was dominant on the mound for the Tigers, holding the Bronchos to just three hits in a complete game shut out.

Byrd struck out three and walked three.

The Tigers got the only run they would need in the third inning.

Owen Taylor walked and advanced to second on a ground out. Two batters later, Jamil Phillippe drove him in with a single to make it 1-0.

The Tigers tacked on a run in the seventh inning.

Owen Bigler led the inning off with a single. Pinch runner Luke Dunshee advanced to third on an error, then scored on another error to make it 2-0.

Chase Rubi also had a hit for the Tigers, with Phillippe, Jack Ferrell, Bigler and Taylor all drawing walks.

Lebanon is now 5-5 and they face conference foe Crawfordsville on Saturday.
