Tigers bats lead well to big win over McAlester

Apr. 8—McALESTER — A big third inning led the way for an 11-0 win for the Tahlequah Tigers over the McAlester Buffaloe.

The Tigers picked up 7 runs in the inning at MHS on Monday, April 8 for their fourth straight win. Three Tigers finished the game with three players with multiple runners batted in.

After not picking up any runs through the first two innings, the Tigers opened the scoring with their seventh-inning barrage. After the first three Tigers reached base to open the inning, Brayden Northing drove in a pair of runners with a line-drive double to center field. Synjin Sampson Sampson added a run with a single to put the Tigers up 3-0.

Rylan Eagle added to the run production with a triple and then was easily driven by an Eli Gibson double. A walk and a double capped off the Tigers' 7-run third inning.

A bases-loaded walk in the top of the fourth inning added to THS' lead. The Tigers picked up two more runs with a single and a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to cap off the 11-0 win.

Brayden Northingon led the way for the Tigers with a 2-for-4 day with 3 RBI. Sampson went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Eagle added 2 RBI in a 2-for-3 day.

THS is back in action at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 at home against MHS.
