Tigers' Ady Dwight earns GPAC attacker of the week recognition
Sep. 12—MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan middle blocker Ady Dwight added another Great Plains Athletic Conference attacker of the week honor to her list of accolades on Monday.
Across three matches last week, two-time All-American first-team pick Dwight powered her way to an exceptional .452 hitting percentage with 55 kills, adding 10 blocks to garner the weekly honor for the fifth time in her career and first in 2023. The conference award wasn't the only honor Dwight received this week, as she also was named DWU homecoming royalty on Monday night.
After last week's effort, Dwight eclipsed 1,500 career kills, and she's approaching 400 blocks (390). For the 2023 season, Dwight has 249 kills to her credit at a rate of 4.61 kills per set — which leads the nation — on .368 hitting. The Tigers went 2-1 in matches last week, including a four-set win over Dordt in the home conference opener.
DWU (10-6, 1-0 GPAC) returns to action on Wednesday night, taking on GPAC for Northwestern (Iowa) on the road.
