Thursday's prep highlights: Quarnstrom's 27 points help Sabers past Eagles

Arcola 66, Blue Ridge 22. Kacie Sisk's 24-point performance joined with eight points from Ava Simpson to help the Purple Riders (18-5) earn a comfortable Lincoln Prairie Conference win in Farmer City. Mercedes Manuel paced the Knights (5-17) with six points, but Blue Ridge was unable to overcome a 39-14 halftime deficit.

* Bloomington Central Catholic 77, St. Joseph-Ogden 52.

The Saints pulled away from a 31-26 halftime advantage and claimed an Illini Prairie Conference road win over the Spartans (12-9) despite 23 points from Addison Frick, nine points from Addie Martinie and seven points apiece from Timera Blackburn-Kelley and Katie Ericksen.

* Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 45, Unity Christian 18.

A 22-13 halftime advantage swelled into a decisive Lincoln Prairie Conference road win for the Knights (14-10), with Claire Seal providing 17 rebounds and 16 points, Morgan Casteel scoring eight points and Sara Herschberger adding seven points. Twelve of Seal's rebounds came on the offensive glass.

* Cerro Gordo/Bement 59, Heritage 15.

Sixteen points from Caroline Hill, 15 points from Haylei Simpson and eight points from Bailey Walter helped the Broncos (16-9) gallop past the host Hawks (2-22) in a Lincoln Prairie Conference contest.

* Cissna Park 53, Milford 20.

Addison Lucht scored 24 points and tallied six steals to help the Timberwolves (15-7) past the host Bearcats (12-11) in a nonconference contest. Cissna Park was able to pull away in the second half thanks in part to the efforts of Sophie Duis and Lauryn Hamrick with the duo finishing with 11 points and nine points, respectively.

* Hoopeston Area 35, Iroquois West 32.

Claire Dixon's 14-point performance included four three-pointers and led the charge for the Cornjerkers (14-12) in a road win against the Raiders (15-10) in Vermilion Valley Conference play. Maddie Barnes added seven points for Hoopeston Area — which led 20-13 at halftime — while ILyana Nambo paced the Raiders with a 14-point effort.

* LeRoy 54, Ridgeview 25.

Nineteen points from Molly Buckles and 14 points from Emily Bogema — including four three-pointers — helped the Panthers (16-10) claim a road win over the Mustangs in Heart of Illinois Conference play. Kenzie Wesson led Ridgeview (9-15) with 12 points.

* Lexington 40, Fisher 32.

Despite 13 points from Melina Luyando, eight points from Jenna Clemmons and five points from Paige Hott, the host Bunnies (11-12) were outlasted by the Minutemen in a Heart of Illinois Conference game. Lexington trailed 18-15 at halftime.

* Mahomet-Seymour 52, Charleston 39.

Fifteen points apiece from Reese Gallier and Kylie Waldinger helped the Bulldogs (11-14) notch an Apollo Conference victory against the Trojans, with Sidney Young chipping in seven points in a game that the Bulldogs led 32-19 at halftime.

* Monticello 51, Pawnee 34.

The Sages (9-15) claimed victory in a nonconference road game against the Indians thanks to 17 points from Megan Allen and 10 points apiece from Avery Weidner and Pearl Glaze.

* Normal Calvary 42, Uni High 17.

An East Central Illinois Conference road tilt saw Gabby Mongwa grab 11 rebounds and score eight points to lead the Illineks (3-13) in both categories.

* Oakwood 58, Westville 31.

Jaydah Arrowsmith scored 17 points and connected on a trio of shots from beyond the arc to key the Comets (10-17) past the host Tigers (3-20) in VVC play. Nikita Taylor added nine points and Taylor Smoot chipped in eight points to help the Comets, who led 30-12 at halftime. Aubrie Jenkins' 11-point outing led the Tigers in the loss.

* Paxton-Buckley-Loda 40, Prairie Central 35.

Bailey Lubechow scored 11 points, Aubrey Busboom added 10 points and Addison Lavender contributed nine points to allow the host Panthers (4-19) to overcome a 19-16 halftime deficit in an Illini Prairie Conference contest. Jayla Hammond's nine-point performance led the Hawks (2-21).

* Okaw Valley 49, Villa Grove 13.

Six points from Maddi Wicklander, four points from Sophia Shaw and two points from Jobella Crafton weren't enough to permit the Blue Devils (1-13) to get past the Timberwolves in a Lincoln Prairie Conference matchup.

* St. Thomas More 70, Rantoul 38.

Ruari Quarnstrom's 27-point outburst paced the host Sabers (11-11), who also received 13 points from Emily Herges and 12 points from Grace Dimoke in an IPC triumph over the Eagles (5-17). Josie Roseman and Jocelyn Espinoza scored 11 points apiece for Rantoul, which trailed 34-30 at halftime.

* Sullivan 36, Tri-County 34.

Shae Ellis' game-high 17 points joined with seven points from Aeralyn Thrasher and five points from Kiley Dyer to lift the host Redskins (14-9) past the Titans (16-9) in LPC play. Cara Phillips paced Tri-County with 12 points while Josie Armstrong added 10 points and eight rebounds.

* Unity 36, Chillicothe IVC 28.

The Rockets (16-9) went on the road and returned with an IPC victory on the strength of 15 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals from Reagen Stringer, six points and three rebounds from Claire Meharry and four points and four rebounds from Addison Ray.

* Watseka 43, Armstrong-Potomac 12.

Haven Meyer and Megan Martin tallied 10 points apiece for the Warriors (22-1) as they picked up a VVC road win over the Trojans (4-19). Brianna Denault added six rebounds for Watseka, while Armstrong-Potomac was led by four points apiece from Christine Bailey and Kayla Crull

At Monticello. Brandon Peters picked up three wins for Monticello at 285 pounds and Luke Andruczyk

* tallied two wins at 120 pounds as the Sages beat Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin/Armstrong-Potomac 44-24, lost to Unity 70-12 and lost to Oakwood 60-9 in a quadrangular dual meet.
