Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren spotted doing shooting drills at practice

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren was spotted at the team practice facility on Friday doing various on-court shooting drills with the training staff.

Holmgren underwent a successful procedure on Aug. 30 to address a Lisfranc injury in his right foot suffered during the CrawsOver Pro-Am in Seattle, Washington. He will miss the season as he rehabs from the rare basketball injury.

The second pick shed his walking boot last month and is progressing in his recovery from the injury. He is continuing to reach different benchmarks in his rehabilitation, including some shooting from various spots on the court, via Clemente Almanza of Thunder Wire.

Holmgren spends several hours a day at the team facility going through various treatments and other related medical activities. The injury is the first major setback Holmgren has experienced in his career and the team has been impressed with his attitude and drive during the process.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault said on Nov. 15 that Holmgren is in great spirits and is on track with his recovery. The team is rallying behind him during this process and is encouraging him every step of the way as he works toward returning to full health.

The recovery from such a major injury will be a long and grueling process for Holmgren, but it is clear he has a strong support system around him to help him throughout the process.
