WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE to see today’s piping-hot, fresh-outta-the-oven episode of THE RUSH with Jared Quay! We’ll let you know everything you didn’t know you needed to know about sports. Other stuff too. But mostly sports.

It’s Wednesday, April 8, 2020 and here’s what Jared is cooking up:

  • The Bucs unveiled a new uniform that’s a throwback to their Super Bowl team, and HBO announced which teams will be featured on Hard Knocks next year.

  • While it’s business as usual with virtually every aspect of the NFL, Cam Newton claimed that the pandemic was having an adverse effect on his free agency.

  • MLB is considering a plan for a shortened season to begin sometime in May that would require all 30 teams to live in Arizona while quarantined for five months.

  • The NHL admitted it may need to cancel the rest of the regular season while the NBA has decided that it won’t begin weighing its options until May 1st.

  • Meanwhile, Dana White is looking into securing a private island in an undisclosed location to serve as a venue for UFC events during the pandemic.

  • Billie Jean King, Carli Lloyd and Sabrina Ionescu appear in the Good News Tracker as they team up with Yahoo Sports to take part in We Keep Playing: an online discussion about staying healthy during a pandemic. To join in, submit a question on Twitter or Facebook, and tag @YahooSports and #WeKeepPlaying.

THE RUSH will be back tomorrow. Until then, check out archived episodes here.
