The best features of the Warriors' new venue will be for one-percenters
In just six months the Golden State Warriors will move into their sparkling new venue, Chase Center, in San Francisco. The billion-dollar facility will feature an 18,000 seat basketball arena, a concert/theater space, state of the art player facilities, office space and plenty of room for restaurants and retail.
Chase Center will also feature some of the most luxurious suites money can buy.
The Washington Post wrote up the Warriors’ new venue on Wednesday, highlighting some of the insane perks available to suite holders. To start with, the suites are actually sunk into the venue itself. They’ve been built under the lower level seats and won’t be visible from the court. Once you get inside, there’s a butler — not merely a server! — to assist you, and every suite has its very own.
Outside of the suites, there’s an exclusive courtside lounge and dining room bathed in golden tones, just for suite holders. And of course there’s a private wine cellar. But the best feature marries the Warriors’ Silicon Valley roots with personal sports luxury. Every suite has a camera facing the court, which broadcasts footage to an enormous video wall in the dining room. Every suite holder will be able to see what the game looks like from their own suite even when they’re in the dining room grabbing a nosh and a glass of old, expensive wine.
Such fantastic perks don’t come cheap, though. The Post reported that the suites cost between $1 million and $2.5 million a year (that price includes both basketball and non-basketball events). But even if you have the money, you may be out of luck. Thirty of the 32 suites have already been bought for the upcoming season.
Season ticket holders won’t get suite-level white glove treatment, though they’ll still be well taken care of. But even those options are hard to come by. The Warriors have nearly met their season ticket target for the 2019-20 season, and the waiting list has 44,000 people on it.
Chase Center hasn’t even opened yet, but the most luxurious accommodations are nearly sold out for next season. Which means it’s time to start saving your pennies for a suite for the 2020-21 season.
